Supporting People & Organizations across the globe through Behavioural Science, Data Analytics and Performance Management

The OBM Academy is founded in 2020 and is a social enterprise using behavioural science and data analytics to help people and organizations thrive. We use the tools of behavioural and data science to improve workplace performance, with a special focus on empowering human services organizations. At The OBM Academy, we translate theory into practice, providing training that empowers teams and drives workplace performance.

Coaching and Mentoring for Professionals & Training for Organizations

In today’s fast-paced and complex business environment, sustained success requires more than just a good strategy—it demands resilient, adaptive, and high-performing teams. At The OBM Academy, we provide specialized coaching and mentoring programs designed to equip your leaders and teams with the critical skills needed to thrive.

Our approach is uniquely grounded in the powerful combination of Behavioural Science (to understand the "why" behind performance) and Data Analytics (to measure the "what" and "how" of progress). We partner with professionals and organizations, integrating proven behavioural science and hard data to create sustainable change that is both human-centric and results-driven.

Our Leadership

Dr. Maria Relucio (she/her) founded The OBM Academy with a professional journey deeply rooted in the integration of Philosophy, Education, Behavioural Science, and Law. She is grateful to have dedicated over two decades to teaching and research, earning a BA in Philosophy [Honours], MA in Philosophy & MA in Theory and Policy Studies in Education and a PhD in Social Justice Education from the University of Toronto (OISE).

This academic foundation is complemented by specialized postgraduate training in Behavioural Science and Psychology from respected institutions across the UK (University of Wolverhampton), Ireland (Institute of Child Education and Psychology), the US (Florida Institute of Technology), and the Netherlands (OBM Dynamics). She is privileged to hold international certifications as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), Qualified Behaviour Analyst (QBA), and International Behaviour Analyst (IBA), and to be an accredited OBM Foundations Trainer by APMG International (UK). She channels this expertise into training professionals at the Academy and is honoured to contribute to global conversations as a member of the UN Behavioural Science Group.

A core part of her mission is making knowledge accessible. This inspired her to create a free resource platform to support diverse learners, families, and educators by promoting effective and inclusive practices in Behavioural Science and Education (https://mariarelucio.com/).

Dr. Relucio's work is further structured by her robust legal training (LLB from the University of London [Honours], LLM in International Law from the Université catholique de Louvain). In her LLM thesis, she worked on the topic, "Legal Challenges on the use of Artifical Intelligence (AI) in International Investment Arbitration (IIA) and Proposed Regulatory Framework and Practice Solutions". Her legal training provides a strong ethical framework for her practice. This background allows her to navigate the complex nuances of human rights, business law, and technology, informed by her status as a Member of Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX, UK) and International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Certified Information and Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) and a Certified AI Transformation Leader (CAITL, USAII). Her early passion for Public International Law and Human Rights Law led her to earn a World Health Organization (WHO) certification as a coach and trainer, advocating for quality mental health supports.

Ultimately, Dr. Relucio's professional path is driven by a strong commitment to global Social Justice and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB). She has been fortunate to lead large-scale accessibility projects, author numerous publications on DEIB, and support families through special education appeals as Chair and Member of Special Education Appeal Boards in Ontario. This dedication is reflected in her long-standing role as a voting member of the ARCH Disability Law Centre and her recognition as a Certified Diversity Executive (CDE, US) and a Fellow of the Institute of Diversity & Equality Professionals (FIEDP, UK).
